Brief History

Formally Airlines of Western Australia then renamed Ansett W.A. in 1984.

The only airline in Australia's history not to carry a passenger or have an aircraft in its name in the country. The name only appeared on a single BAe 146 aircraft for the Farnborough Air Show in 1984 to mark the fact that BAe had won Air W.A / Ansett order.

It was the prototype 146-200 and was used as the company demonstrator for a few years.
It then became G-BMYE still under BAe ownership. It was scrapped c.1995.

In 1993 the Ansett W.A. division was absorbed by Ansett, and any connection with its Western Australian heritage vanished.
